I bought the HIFI500 for my garage workshop, I have a large CD collection of both commercial Releases & CDR mixes, many of the CDR mixes are 25 years old & the HIFI500 has played everything I’ve put in it can’t ask for more than that. The only draw back I have encountered is that the unit does not save your EQ settings, but that’s a minor issue.
It has very nice sound more natural than the more processed sound that is usually available at this price point. I am thinking of buying (Or winning, haha) a second unit for the guest bedroom… so yeah I like it.

With the addition of phono outputs and external earial socket this very good product would an excellent product. However the headphone output is sufficient to connect my hi-fi amplifier for true stereo. Having said that I am pleased with the unit as it is. I definitely think it is a more pleasing sound than my smart speaker especially on FM and it’s real radio. Love it, just a shame. About lack of connectativity.
