Replacement hi fi mainly for CDs after reluctlantly got rid of hi fi system had for 20 years – only had for xmas but impressed so far nice looking and good clear sound

I have been looking for radio and CD player with the option to play mp3 files from a usb or smart card for a few months now. I was aware of Majority audio products and came across the Oakcastle DAB 500 radio and CD player. On further investigation I discovered it offered FM, DAB and DAB+ radio, CD player, Bluetooth connectivity and played mp3 files stored on a usb stick. In addition it was compact, well made and sounded great. It also has an alarm feature but this is not something I would use.
Having worked through the handbook I found the set up was straight forward. The time and date updated as soon as I turned it on. It also included features like screen dimming which is a great feature if you plan on using the player in a bedroom.
I would definitely recommend this radio – CD player for not only the features but also the sound quality.
My only complaint is if you turn on the DAB 500 while you are having cuppa you lose track of the time listen to your favourite radio program or CD.
