Diana –
Replacement for a Sony and is just as good if not better. Great CD sound reproduction and the DAB radio works just fine.
Marie-Clare –
Used as a kitchen CD and radio. Sounds good.
Simon Powell –
Seems like a pretty good all rounder for the price.
DAB: picks up stations quickly, easy to preset and skip between stations.
CD: a little slow to get going, tray a little flimsy but plays well. Amusingly the open/close button is under the tray so once open a bit tricky to close. Sounds good and EQ via menu let’s you adjust for pop/rock/speech etc or even adjust further.
FM: again good, as per DAB
Bluetooth: Connects easily, but doesn’t display clock when playing which is a little daft, but then I guess the CD doesn’t either. Main concern if I have one is the Bluetooth seems slightly quieter than the radio/CD as if something is lost in transmission but I might be wrong.
It’s a small, but not tiny unit but my main observation is that it’s maximum volume isn’t particularly loud. It’s fine but you won’t be disturbing the neighbours or dislodging roof tiles.
Sound quality feels like a 7.5. it’s pleasant and full, but lacks crispness and is a tiny bit crunchy at its upper volumes (which aren’t that high).
Overall happy for the price. There aren’t many options with DAB/CD/BT so it fits the bill. However if you’re looking for LOUD and super hi-fi sound it ain’t that.
